”YOZORA｜NIGHT SKY BY K+P"は、ニューヨークで見上げてきた夜空たちを器に映し出しました。マンハッタンの街角から見上げる夜空、自転車で風を感じ走りながら見上げた夜空や、タクシーでハイウェイを走っている時に眺めた夜空など、ニューヨークの夜のさまざまな瞬間の『夜空』をテーマにしています。
作品は黒茶色の南蛮土を成型＆素焼きし、透明釉を施し本焼しました。透明釉を施したところは、まるで夜空にかかる雲や星空のように仕上がっています。作品を手にされたみなさんがそれぞれに、ニューヨークの夜空ってこんな感じだったかなあと思い出してくれたり、まだ見ぬ夜空を想像して思い馳せてもらったり、自由にその人の「夜空」を想像してもらったりして、作品を通じて私たちは同じ空の下に繋がっていることを感じてもらえたら、とても平和であって嬉しく思います。
